Rick,

With one week to go, I believe the Peach was looking at
Bama, Florida, and USC. At the time, all three had
identical 6-4 records. If all three had lost on Rivalry
Weekend, the Peach Bowl committee would've had a tough
decision to make. As it turns out, the three contenders
went 1-2 on Rivalry Weekend so I'd have to say the
decision to pick Florida was a no-brainer. I might be
badly mistake, but I wouldn't buy a Peach Bowl ticket
unless I wanted to see Florida / Virginia Tech game.

Don't forget about Arkansas. If they can knock off LSU,
they'll finish with a 6-5 record at which point the
Houston Bowl comes into play. Then we'd be looking at
the Music City, Independence, and Houston Bowl choosing
from Bama, Arkansas and USC. In that scenario, I think
Bama winds up in the Independence.
