Hello all,
Here I send you some news and interesting project suggestion about
Dynamic Systems Library (DSL):
- The web pages have finally moved to a permanent location. It is:
http://www.rtlinux.org/rtlinux.new/dsl/
Many thanks to the rtlinux.org people who let me use their web server.
- The User's Tutorial has been completed. You can now learn everything
about using DSL. Check DSL's web pages.
Many of you pointed out that it would be very interesting to use
real-time capabilities on SimuLink. As you probably know, rtlinux.org
has links to commercial packages doing that. But it would be much better
if some of us develop free software for that. Maybe DSL is an step in
that direction. DSL generates real-time code from dynamic systems, so
perhaps it's possible to create an interface between Simulink and DSL. I
must say that I'm not familiar with MatLab programming, so I didn't mind
about it when designing DSL and I can't tell if such interface is
possible. If it's not possible, perhaps some MatLab freak would be
interested in joining me to develop a Simulink-compatible DSL.
Another option is to develop a new application similar to Simulink for
real-time dynamic systems simulation. In that case, the only thing you
need to do is to add a GUI to DSL. DSL already makes the rest. DSL was
developed for this purpouse, and I can assure it's possible and easy.
However, as I want to concentrate in developing the library, I wouldn't
participate in this project. Anybody doing this job can count on my full
support.
What do you think?.
