Greetings -

I am an undergrad at Iowa State, and we are working on a research project
consisting of an embedded multiprocessor Linux system using UltraSparc
processors. We need to run real-time applications, and the obvious
problem is that there is no port of RT-Linux for UltraSparc (that we know
of).

This leads me to my questions:
1. Does anyone know of any current work being done to port RT-Linux to
UltraSparc?

2. If we were to do the porting ourselves, where would be a good place to
start? We've been looking at the source code to find which parts of the
code are machine dependent an which aren't, and we'd like some guidance
on the most intelligent way to begin the process of porting the code.

Thanks for your time,
Aaron Cordes
