I've been using RTLinux for 2 months, very happily.
I was talking to a friend, telling him the wonders of
RTlinux. He seemed to believe me. But being a Matlab
lover and he pointed out that RTAI would support
Matlab for free, thus being more suitable for all the
software he's developed to control robots in the last
years. Thus he asked me "what's the difference between
the two (RTAI and RTLinux)".
Silence from my side.
I've never really looked at RTAI because RTLinux just
seemed a good choice and worked right away. But I'm
curious. I'll stick with RTL but was wondering what
the differences are. I checked past mail exchanges on
the subject. I really didn't get a clear picture.
The picture I got was: RTAI and RTL are "different",
some people like one, some like the other, and perhaps
these people don't like each other TOO much.

So I was wondering if anyone could explain this in few
words, like pros and cons list for each of the two.
I hope this is not such an old topic that no one will
want to answer. Well, thanks anyway and sorry to take
up space in the list.
