Thanks for the help everyone. It was in fact the math library, which had
worked fine for 2 years now. Can anyone explain to me why the math library
functions are suddenly real time incompatible? Were there always
std-lib/io calls in them, and it's just now that we can no longer get away
with it, or did someone recently add them (just to annoy me :) ?

At any rate, I'm taking Jan's advice, and looking into rt_math ala mca2.
