I just compiled rtl beta15 with a 2.2.12 kernel (from ftp.kernel.org)
Trying to boot this kernel, I get the following:

Uncompressing Linux...
Out of memory
-- System halted

This kernel is a bzImage, because lilo refused to install a zImage
kernel, saying it was "too big".
The size of the bzImage is 428,464 bytes.
I've configured just about everything modular in an effort to keep this
kernel small.
(BTW, I'm _not_ compiling in smp.)

Has anyone seen this problem before ? What's going on ?
