I'm not quite sure if my problem is related to Ivan's problem:

I'm using SuSE 6.3, and a 3com905b network card.
I installed the prepatched 2.2.13-rtl2.0 and was only able to configure
3c59x.o due to the missing 3c90x support.
Rebooting to the recently build rtl-kernel my /sbin/init.d/network didn't
startup. I got error messages like the following:

Setting up network device eth0
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
etho: unknown interface: No such device

Using lsmod I discovered that no module was loaded. modprob 3c59x.o and
starting the network worked fine. Ok, I could configure /etc/module.conf,
but because I switch often between the normal Kernel and the rtl this is no
solution for me.

Why is there no 3c90x module support?
I'm also missing some other configuration I'm able to set in SuSE 6.3
Has anybody any experience patching the kernel-sources of SuSE 6.3, and is
it possible to set the RT support in "make xconfig" after patching?

ThanX in advance,
Norbert
