Interestingly enough, I have done some similar stuff for RTL/RTAI
(booting from floppy and running off a 2 Mbyte RAM disk). I was using
the old shared memory approach (reserving some at the end). One thing I
found was that the minimum RAM I could get it to work in was 8 Megs (7
for Linux, 1 for RT). What seemed to be happening was that there was
some transistion period during booting where it needed nearly 8 Megs (I
guessed 2 RAM disks worth). I haven't tried using the Tomasz shared
memory, but hopefully this may cut down the requirement.
Anyone had any similar experience.
