Yes to both, provided there is some spare memory available. GDB should
work using a serial connection and gdbserver (user processes only). We
have rt module debug using the same principle, but it is not yet
released. This will be on our next CD (which should be out very soon).
Although this is RTAI based, it should be fairly easy to make it work on
the current RTL beta series.
As far as R2D2 goes, much of the recent work has been in providing a
target environment that needs less than 100Kbytes of storage space.
