Hi! Spending an hour, and incorporating Victors usefull mails, everthing seems to be just fine, now: 1. The "RTL ERROR: pthread_setperiod crosses cpus" happened, because i simple didn't fixed the rt-task to a CPU. I thought that isn't necessary, since the "hello"-example within the RTL2.0-package also didn't do that (and had the same problems). Now, my RC-servo control task only has about 5 microseconds jitter, even when 5 FLI animations, a "make -j2" kernel compilation and a "find /" are running in parallel. For those, who my be interessted in using 12 RC-Servos with RTL2.0 via parallel port, i put the sources on the web: http://www.rcs.ei.tum.de/~kuhn/rtlinux/servo-2.2.13.tgz (do a "wget", don't use netscape, or contact me personaly, if you have troubles downloading the code - i will pm it to you) More documentation on that topic and the schematics can be found here: http://www.linux-magazin.de/ausgabe/1998/11/Rtlinux/rtlinux2.html 2. inserting the 3dfx-module caused a Kernel Panic complaining about "mtrr" ... When recompiling the 3dfx-module after deleting the line "CFLAGS += -DHAVE_MTRR" in the 3dfx-Makefile, q3test runns like a charm :-) But i didn't yet tested, if not setting the mtrr causes 3d-performance leaks (q3test apeared to be as fast as usual, but i have to do benchmarks). Somebody should have a look inside of "mtrr.c" of the 3dfx-package, maybe contacting the author ... Conclusion: Great work! Many thanks to the whole the RTL-team! Is RTL2.0 ready for wide announcement, now? cu (in Vienna on Dec. 13/14) Bernhard --- [rtl] --- To unsubscribe: echo "unsubscribe rtl" | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] OR echo "unsubscribe rtl <Your_email>" | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] ---- For more information on Real-Time Linux see: http://www.rtlinux.org/~rtlinux/
