Hi Neil After posting that problem with GNOME I obtained the solution via a GNOME mailing list and posted it on the rtl list. But here it is anyways. My problem was resolved by simply removing the .ICEauthority file which will probably exist in roots home dir. So as root just do: cd ls -a rm .ICEauthority Then quit GNOME (kill the GNOME process) and do startx. I don't think you need to reboot. I hope that does it, Daniel >From: Neil Best <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: start and exit GNOME problems >Date: Mon, 22 May 2000 14:46:53 -0700 > >Hey, guys.
