Yes, it is called 'dd' andyou always have it! I have used it once
with piping the data to gzip. This was working very well. That's the way
you
generate boot-floppys as well! The only thing I have done before is to
fill the partition
with a big file filled with zeros (dd if=/dev/zero of=/file.... until
the disc is full)
and delete them afterwards. Those sectors will become compressed much
better via
gzip then just unused sectors.
btw: does somebody have a RT system installed on a disk with about
<200MB(smaller is better)
including compiler..? I would like to have a copy of it (made by dd or
diskimage)
