I certainly would not want to see you stop using SuSE. Please take a look at
http://www.suse.com/~peterb, then click on the link under the heading "RT-Linux
for SuSE 6.4". I have an Abit BP6 motherboard also, so hopefully it will work
for you with SMP. The fellow who prepared the patch claims SMP did not work for
him, but it works for me!
