Hi,

Synaptic Ltd. introduces

                   RTSpreadS - RealTimeSPREADsheetS

Flexible parallel realtime control with a configurable user interface.
Versions: realtime processes 3.7.19, user interface 1.1.74

Download a functional demo from

 mirror at

The development of parallel realtime applications is now reduced to
the definition of a few tables using your favorite spreadsheet program
(like StarCalc(TM), Excel (TM)) or just a text editor.

The kernel of RTSpreadS used for more than 3 years for building
industrial solutions for quality or production control and laboratory
measurements has been ported 1 year ago to realtime linux and is
continuously developing.

Realtime parallel programming using RTSpreadS is easy. Even non
programmers have developed complex applications. And knowledge of a
spreadsheet program is enough to modify *any* detail of a running
application.

Features:

- Support for the INTERBUS (Phoenix-ISA Card) industrial bus system
with flexible configuration and automatic error diagnosis
- Interactive layout of the graphical user interface
- Support for various measurement hardware like Siemens SMP-cards,
Adlink cards,...
- Control up to 12 parallel tasks with independent user interfaces
(optionally using the virtual desktops of KDE)
- Debug your hardware with an overview for all IO channels
- Develop modular applications using module tables
- Up to 16 PID controllers
- Graphical monitoring of protocol data with statistical process control
calculations
- Interactive parallel task development with the table interpreter, no
compilations
- Use all facilities of your office software for administation of the
realtime tables

The freshly developed software package for hardware control or
laboratory applications RTSPREADS is now available for Real-time Linux
(RTLinux v1.1).

Limitations of the Demo:

- the maximum number of parallel tasks is 2 (LITE: 4, PROFESSIONAL:
12 )
- the maximum number of methods is 20 (LITE: 100, PROFESSIONAL:
300)
- only the demo user (but with highest accesslevel) can login,
  user administration is disabled
- the runtime in one continuous session is limited to 30 days, unlimited
restarts

There are no limitations to the size or number of execution tables.
The limitations of the DEMO allow the development of small and useful
applications.
