We are starting to use the rtl for our development efforts.
All porting of our code has been seamless so far. We were
getting ready to put one of our products live on the production
servers when we got a compilation error on the raid controller.
The controller is a AMI MEGARAID and complies without
problems when rtl is not patched in.
The error follows:
gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/rtlinux-2.2.test/linux/include -Wall
-Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strict-aliasing
-D__SMP__ -D__RTL__ -pipe -fno-strength-reduce -m486 -malign-loops=2 -malign-jumps=2
-malign-functions=2 -DCPU=686 -c megaraid.c
megaraid.c: In function `mega_i_query_adapter':
megaraid.c:1532: warning: passing arg 2 of `__constant_memcpy' discards `volatile'
from pointer target type
megaraid.c:1532: warning: passing arg 2 of `__memcpy' discards `volatile' from pointer

megaraid.c:1535: warning: passing arg 2 of `__constant_memcpy' discards `volatile'
from pointer target type

If you could point us in the correct path to fixing this problem I will be happy to
send you a updated
driver for your ftp site.
We are using the rtl 2.3 prepatch 3 version with the 2.2.16 kernel,
alast we have tried rtl 2.2 and other 2.3's to see if the perblem was fixed there..
