Can anyone recommend a few good books that deal with "real time" programming and operating systems at a very fundamental level.  It seems I was only after a system that could do something EXACTLY everytime I needed it to do something and that's where rtlinux came into play.  Now I'm even more curious about the evolution of real time OS's and the philosophies and the technologies... hmmm, I'm quite curious!
