I think that what I wrote above explains that you do not need to
mount/umount RTAI if you are using just RTAI modules. In fact all the
RTAI modules do it.

It is not a new feature is there since its birth. In fact, thank to its
generalized system requests, RTAI can also be used, as it is, with any
newly developed user specific module. In such a case the user must care
to call rt_mount_rtai to get to its basic RTAI services.
