hi,

I have to use an embedded Pc, a MOPSlcd4. I did the whole development
(of a rtp sniffer) on a normal PC as well as the tests. Then, the
precision of paquet arrival time is acccurate within the microseconds
(on normal PC). after that i did the same (with exactly same
application) on the embedded system and i got a time which is accurate
within only 10 milliseconds!!! I resume:

on a normal PC: 12:45:30.146589
on MOPSlcd4: 12:45:30.140000

Moreover, i am using Linux (2.2.14). because there is to few RAM on the
embedded system, the installation can only run in text mode. however,
the installation seems alright. but then, when rebooting, the system is
not able to boot without a boot floppy disk !!

the stats of the MOPSlcd4 is:
- AMD 586DX-133
- 19MB RAM
- hard disk IDE 1.2GB
- Ethernet 10M
- graphic cs8900

so my questions are:

- what can be made to get accurate time within 1 microsecond??
- what can be done to boot the system without a boot floppy disk??

thanks in advance.

sylvain
