Subject: [rtl] Boot Disk - Adding Old Style Shared Memory "append=..."
Hi,
I hope this is easy for someone.
I have a dual system so don't want to install the lilo on the master
boot
record, so I have a boot disk.
I created it with:
# mkbootdisk --device /dev/fd0 2.2.14-rtl2.3
It has the lilo.conf in the /etc directory.
I want to add the statement
append="mem=125M"
for my shared memory and update the lilo, but I have been unsuccessful.
I
use the following:
#/sbin/lilo -C /mnt/floppy/etc/lilo.conf -m /mnt/floppy/boot/map - i
/mnt/floppy/boot/boot.b -v
I get the message that the boot and map files are not updated, but HOW
DO I
UPDATE THEM ???
Any help is greatly appreciated --
Thanks-
