That should be no problem.

For the MPC850 you won't have a lot of choice as to which kernel you use.
The latest 2.4.2 is quite stable and we have the necessary PPC changes for
RTLinux ready to go.

} with? I assume that this would depend on what parts of the Linux kernel
} change between releases.

It's one of the newer platforms but 860/821 support is quite stable.  The
850 is one of the newer ports but so far has been stable.

} 3) Does anyone have any impressions on the stability of RTLinux on an MPC8xx
