Good Morning. 1. Might the two _non-smp_ kernel-rpms available for download be identical, i.e. both of them contain 2.2.18 -Kernels? ftp://ftp.rtlinux.com/pub/rtlinux/v3/rtlinux-3.0__linux_2.2.18_rtl.i386.rpm ftp://ftp.rtlinux.com/pub/rtlinux/v3/rtlinux-3.0__linux_2.4.0_test1_rtl.i386.rpm 2. Are we the first to encounter problems upon creating devices with the "make devices" command, mentioned in Michael Barabanov's "Installation Instructions for RTLinux"? This is during configuration of a 2.4.2 based RTLinux 3.0 and the Makefile does not contain a device-section. 3. Whereas the 2.4.2-smp and the 2.2.18 tarballs contain all the necessary header-files, important header-files seem to be missing in the 2.4.2 non-smp source-package. 4. Trying to use the modules, which come with the 2.4.2 based rpm, we only see some screens full of unresolved symbol-messages. We play ahead with what we have, but things could be easier, I'd say. At least, some folks get familliar with kernel-compilation.., that's alright.
