No, what happens is that exactly what I wanted to happen was
happening. I just didn't stop to think about the output code that skipped N
periods between outputs. What looked dead was actually just severely
stunned.
All is working now. If you are using code like my pseudo-code to
adjust periods, that is great. It works just fine.
Sorry for the false alarm. Nothing to see here. Move along...
