Rather dated though.
It's interesting that the video card manufacturers were "caught
out" by the trade press back in '98 or so, and they all appear
to have put in registry flags to turn off this behaviour.
We're still catching up.
I believe there's an xfree config option which works
with some drivers. Damn. I can't remember what it
was. PCIRetry, I think.
