Some samplers can use their SCSI interfaces to share devices with a computer 
- and to communicate directly with the computer. Don't know if there's an 
official standard for that, but it seems to work in setups with normal SCSI 
devices on the same bus.

The bad news is that anything used in studio equipment is most likely very 
Closed and surrounded by a massive layer of "you don't need to know that" 
and, if you're lucky, NDAs. (Another reason to keep working on MAIA...)
