I am having the same problem with 2.4.18 on an amd k6 - 266.  I tried setting the
processor to
the k6 setting but with the same results.  Could this have anything to do with
using some older tools. I am currently using an rtlinux 3.0 CD installation with
2.2.18, and just downloaded the
new kernel and compiled.
