Now I realized that I should not forgot to announce, that in RHEL 6.5
was released rubygems errata [1], which adds rubygems-devel subpackage
with all rubygems macros you are used to already for several releases of
Fedora. Namely, you should be able to use
%gem_dir
%gem_instdir
%gem_libdir
%gem_cache
%gem_spec
%gem_docdir
%gem_install
Enjoy. Special thanks goes to Ken Dreyer for pushing this update forward
via RH customer support ;)
If somebody cares to backport these macros into EPEL 5, feel free to
assign yourself to [2].
BTW I opened FPC ticket to update the Ruby packaging guidelines.
