Hola, te sugiero que aprendas primeramente Ruby. Con http://tryruby.hobix.com/ tenes acceso a un tutorial online de Ruby, y con Hacketyhack un lindo entorno de aprendizaje: http://hacketyhack.net/get/ Rails es una extensiòn de Ruby y tiene una curva de aprendizaje un tanto mayor, pero por experiencia previa te vuelvo a repetir: es necesario comprender a Ruby antes de lanzarse a Rails.
