My opinion is,
You did update a elment's innerHTML when your Ajax.updater(or
Ajax.request) is on a loading state.But you do no change to the
element's innerHTML when your Ajax.updater(or Ajax.request) finishs
loading.So, it's in reason the element hang on the loading screen.If
you wanna display the data come back from the server(means that your
request to the server finished?),you should use onSuccess option i
guess.:>
