/^http:\/\/myhostname\.com\/foo$/i would become %r{http://myhostname\.com/foo}i But before you start piecing your own regexp together have a look at the regexp patterns in the URI::REGEXP::PATTERN module (in your ruby lib directory under uri/common.rb).
