seeking a Senior Web Engineer interested in building socially
responsible web applications with the best tools and frameworks
available.

Responsibilities:

- Develop fun, engaging, and socially responsible applications and
services from start to finish.

Requirements:

- BS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a proven track record
and experience
- 2+ years web application development experience
- Practical experience developing Ruby on Rails applications
- Capable with XHTML and CSS.
- Experience building rich interactions with AJAX
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Test::Unit and/or RSpec
and a thorough appreciation for being "test infected"
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
- Residence in the Bay Area and willingness to commute to our downtown
SF office

Preferred Qualifications:

- Practical experience scaling web applications (Do you love reading
the highscalability blog like we do?)
- Video game, and/or viral game mechanics experience
- A love and appreciation for unobtrusive Javascript ala jQuery
- Practical experience and/or an interest in building Facebook
Applications (FBML, FBJS, etc.)
- Experience using ActionScript 3.0/Flex
- A polyglot programmer who is comfortable working with (or able to
learn quickly) the languages that best fit the job as our needs
evolve 
- Comfortable in a *nix stack.  We host on EngineYard and use a
variety of popular open source packages like Memcached, Nginx, Redis,
and more
- Startup and/or small company experience
- Extra credit given to OSS contributions, GitHub repos, etc.  We love
real code!
