ois = new ObjectInputStream(fis);
this.pkg = (Package) ois.readObject();
ois.close();
It did the same thing... threw same exception...
or use the PackageBuilder

fact you shouldn't instantiate a Package at all, either serialise in an
existing one or use the PackageBuilder.
