'i386-apple-darwin10.7.0' is the target triple that llvm-config reports on my system, so I am guessing that 'i686-apple-darwin' comes from the downloaded snapshot, ie. the version of OSX (or maybe LLVM itself) on the snapshot-compiling machine is not exactly the same as mine. Does that sound plausible?
