If I had more time and more Rust experience, I would be interested in implementing a Composer-like package manager for Rust. Unfortunately I have little of both. :-(
I would be more than happy to give feedback to any new rustpkg plans (I did already talk with Tim about it last summer). I don't have time to go through the entire thread here, but from what I see it seems to me many systems devs here have a pretty old fashioned idea of what a good dependency manager can do in terms of ease of use and feature set.
I just hope whoever starts working on a new spec announces it clearly here in a new thread so it does not go unnoticed. I'd love to help but I already have enough problems maintaining one package manager, for now anyway :)
