Hello Karol,

just an add-on for the record (only repeats statements from the
forum):

 |Tarqi (a user on the Arch Linxu forum) helped me figure it out:
 |
 |set v15-compat ssl-method=auto
 |set smtp=smtp:/<my e-mail>@gmail.com:<encoded / escaped
 |password>@smtp.gmail.com:587
 |set smtp-auth=plain
 |set smtp-use-starttls
 |
 |works.
 |The key was encoding the password (escaping certain characters):

Yes unfortunately there is a bug in S-nail, as revealed by Gavin
in the other thread (and on the forum).

 |perl -p -e 's/([^A-Za-z0-9])/sprintf("%%%02X", ord($1))/seg'
 |Paste it in a terminal and enter your password.

S-nail v14.7 provides the `urlenc' and `urldec' commands to help
users doing the necessary conversions.
