Andy, thanks for doing all the great work with the kids (of course you still get to run the stuff don't you!). At that age I was nearly a lost soul. I grew up in a small town with only one other older kid (Lionel) and he didn't really know that much. Additionally, my father was lost in a hunting accident before I could walk, so my AF train set came from the closest thing I had to a 'rich' uncle. I spent years trying to get things going without money (no welfare back then) or any technical help. I got a great boost when I finally discovered Claude Wade and the NASG (maybe 5th grade). I couldn't afford the early Herald or the Gaugian. Of course at that time, technical aid was generally months away with the circuit letter (AF-6 directed by Leonard Giovannoli). With your help, interested youth can get as much information and knowledge in a month from a mentor verses what took me years to learn. Keep up the good work!
