Dear LeRoy,
    1. One 10 button LocoMatic controller is needed for each throttle.
So, if you had two loops and two throttles, you would need two boxes.
    2. Re: DCC - If sound is not a priority, you can use any 1.5 amp
decoder in the SW-9, but you need to wait for either the corrected NMRA
socket to be installed or the nifty conversion pcb our friends in China
designed. We should see these the end of April. We sell Digitrax and I
think the DH123P cost under $25. If you want sound, you can get in line
and wait for the Tsunami coming from Soundtraxx for the swicher. For
your MEC F3, the DH123P will work too, For sound you need to wait for
the wireharness. We have the Soundtraxx pcb (non-Tsunami), but ran out
of wireharness. They only operate on 12 volts or the HO setting. The
higher voltage sets off the fuses and they would need to be returned for
repair. The F7 DCC sound pcb can be used at the "O": voltage.
    3. These are two different systems that are not compatible. The LM
costs a little less, but is not addressable. To many this is important
and worth the extra cost. Also, you can get wireless DCC systems, you
cannot with LocoMatic. The DCC system is much more complex, for many
this is good and a great challenge. Things like changing the horn tone,
speed ratios so different locos can run together, interfacing the DCC
decoder with a computer, etc. I run DCC on my stuff and our 2-8-0
orders are running 60% AC/DC LocoMatic, 20% DCC and 20% DC no sound. I
think the fact that DC no sound is the same as DCC was surprising to us.
With the F units, DCC was about 15% of sales.

    Best regards,
Don

The poll results are in....... To REPLY to the list, use REPLY ALL, to reply
to the sender, use REPLY. I do NOT know if this works on all e-mail software,
but it works on some of the most common ones. For those of you on DIGEST mode,
all REPLY messages go to the list.
