Ted, Gene;

I finaly found a picture of this model on ebay, "American Flyer Fruit
Growers Express Reefer 24052", item #  5983798935

The car is closest to a ventilated box car, not a reefer. I don't
think there is any actual prototype, and the name "United Fruit
Growers Express is a combination of United Fruit Company and Fruit
Growers Express which I doubt ever existed.

The AF model is rather tall for this type of car in scale. If I wanted
to use such a car I'd probably paint the roof and ends boxcar red and
add a simple scale underframe with a straight center sill and a couple
of cross bearers (maybe four in total). Depending on your period, it
coule have either arch bar or cast steel 40-50 ton trucks (ACE, AM or
SHS would all be suitable). SHS does offer a Northern Refrigerator Car
Company Banana car in S which is the closest prototypical model.

The poll results are in....... To REPLY to the list, use REPLY ALL, to reply
to the sender, use REPLY. I do NOT know if this works on all e-mail software,
but it works on some of the most common ones. For those of you on DIGEST mode,
all REPLY messages go to the list.
