I recently made a successful bid for an SFRD refrigerator car on E-Bay. When the car arrived, I wass quite surprised to see that it had a cast plastic underframe. I have a couple of unbuilt kits among my "to-do" stash, and they most certainly do not have a cast plastic underframe. In his final years of producing the kits, did Don Heimburger go to a cast underframe? The underframe fit exactly the car without any apparent filing, sanding, or otherwise adjusting. It was a fishbelly underframe and while not elegant, really quite good. Does anyone know about a source for such underframes? Having one cast up would certainly save time in constructing the cars in my stash. I also have about 25 PRS unbuilt cars. I doubt that anyone has so many unbuilt cars, right? Tom
