On my 2 GP9s I drilled 3 holes that overlapped a little to allow a jeweler's file to be inserted in the oblong hole. I then filed out to the surrounding ridge which served as a guide. Used clear plastic glued over white paper for the boards. If you use white letters on black you might be able to find some numberboard decals that SHS made years ago. The boards are in position that the headlight bulb illuminated them perfectly.
