I'm seeing this for the first time:

(RI's) RDC-3s were 85'0 coupled; the RPO section was 17', the baggage
section was about the same; the coach section was about 39 ft, plus 3-1/2 ft
for the vestibules. The trucks are 59'-6 centers.

Count full-width windows on a side, there should be six. I think the
Athearn car had 5. The forward edge of the first window should be very
close to the center of the car.  Top of main roof over top of rail, 13'-0;
top of "dome" is 14-7 off rail.

Yeah, I may be interested in one, but not if it means getting two shells and
cut/splicing them to get the full length. RI units had the RPO and bag
rooms made into one, with the larger door on each side blanked out-that is
about all the bashing I can handle. Also, check out the corrugation
patterns of the roof and sides, they had better be decently accurate. And
if someone wants a non-powered one, I can show you the prototypes where they
were regularly part of a mailtrain consist--only on the Rock, AFAIK.

Trucks will be interesting-American Models?-no way; the Budd ones from
DPS-maybe, to be checked out. The Black Beetle may be a good one for this.
If we're lucky, there will be pulling power for at least one additional
car-again, as per prototype-Arkansas and Oklahoma don't know how lucky they
were on this one.

If Mr. Baker and any other M&St.L fans are watching-get the RDC-4, and add
the 11-seat coach section in the back, hang the express box on the rear, and
let her rip. I don't think 32 or 33 ever pulled a 50-series Budd coach, but
you can have fun with that anyway.
