We visited the Gene Autry msm back in '94 when we went to the Rose Bowl
stuff. As Bill says, it is truly a special experience, not to be missed,
even if you are too young to have seen Gene, Roy, and Tom at the Saturday
nite "Free Shows" back in the late 30's-early 40's. You should have seen the
kids on the mechanical horses chasing the bad guys!

A couple years ago Pat and I went back to Griffith Park to see the RR msm.
At that time they had nearly completed a train shed structure for display
purposes. It was a slow weekday so we were escorted in, even though the
construction fences were still up . They had already moved some items in and
under cover but beautifully displayed for photos. Amoung other things they
have a nice collection of SP narrow gauge. Unusual was a building set aside
for black & white photos, some showing items from their collection in use
from years ago. There was also a nice area set aside for presentations to
children. All in all, very impressive.
