Folks.....(both short and tall and bald and wide)........
The recently announced passenger car poll has had about 11 people
actually vote. With over 700 members of this S-scale List, it would
appear there is plenty of opportunity for YOUR preferences to still be
registered.
Some interesting results so far indicate that over 90% of us are willing
to buy individual cars WITHOUT the promise of an entire train. I would
have thought otherwise, but I appear to be wrong (for once).
In addition, everyone is willing to buy undecorated cars. I would have
thought the prepainted variety would have been necessary to entice
customers. Wrong again. So conventional wisdom(?) might not have all
the answers after all. Ah, the power of market research.
This information might, just might, entice someone somewhere to produce
one full scale length 82'+ (aka "long") passenger car -- especially if
he realizes that an entire train is not needed nor does factory paint
have to be included. Makes the job considerably easier.
Other interesting tidbits of information are also indicated in the poll,
but with only 11 voters it is doomed to be ignored. I'll bet more folks
have written emails on this subject than have actually voted. As the
politicians say, "Vote! -- again and again" (if Yahoo's software will
allow you to do that, which it won't).
