Hi John, I'm doing something similiar. I'm modeling a prototype
that once existed but now doesn't and bending history to suit my
imaginary scene. The real Visalia Electric was once a subsidary of the
SP but was abandoned years ago. I'm modeling the VE as if it still
exists as an independent short line operating surplus SP equipment and
interchanges to the UP and BNSF. I'll build new industries to fit
roughly into the landscape and natural resources of the old VE, sort
of a "what if" scenario. This way I can use appropiate common rolling
stock as well as some fantasy cars like the VE scrap iron gondola in
the linked photo which apparently was purchased from republic
steel....dave
