Dear Rusty:
The steeplecabs are still available. They are found at
http://www.mrrwarehouse.com/MRW-Made/steeple.htm. Scroll down about 5 -
8 screenfulls and you will find the "CURRENT TRACTION LTD TIMETABLE".
The available Baldwin-Westinghouse Class 'B' is listed there for $129.95
each. The 'D' is planned for the spring. A Brill 55 is also planned.
Now remember, this is only a kit for the shell. No motor, no
sideframes, no trucks, no headlights, no bell, no trolley poles, no
pantograph, no air tanks, etc.
Some of these parts are available in S and the rest can be built
or stolen from HO or O parts.
Here are a few parts of the 1033 parts I used in each of my 40 ton GE
steeplecabs.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Cal-Scale HO air activated bell number BE-285 for the hood bell.
The lower headlights, Cal-Scale HO HL-207.
BTS Details 2001 single chime air horns.
BTS Details 1090 Alco Air Reserve for air tanks.
Windshield wipers will either be Cal-Scale O Scale Wind Shield Wipers
#3017 or Utah Pacific Windshield Wipers WW-94. (I have used both. I
need to look and see which will fit the new shell better.) You might
not need windshield wipers. I model Iowa Traction in 2006.
I build my overhead for pantograph-only operation. (It is much, much
easier than building trolley pole friendly overhead.) I build my own
pantographs from scratch but others successfully run their electrics
with American Model's. Yes, the models are powered by the overhead.
