of Mainline Modeler have aricles on the F39. The September issue has an
article on a Pennsy insulated piggyback trailer.
These articles also cite 1957 Car Builder's Cyc (p. 139), and Model Railroader
March 1993.

A July 1990 article in RMC "Pennsy's Truc-Train F39A" It has a photo of the
flat with the hitches removed and the car painted yellow. It shows a well
weathered, near black, wood floor on either side of the center steel deck
plates. The wood has a very pronounced yellow overspray from the repaint job.
