Bill,

Some of us "Old Time" modelers are converting either On30 (Bachmann
and others) or On3 (Precision Scale and others) trucks to S scale
standard gauge.  You might check out the Precision Scale website to
look at their selection of On3 trucks.  For quick reference, 4' in O
scale converts to 5'4" in S, and 3'7" in O converts to almost 4'10". 
And their passenger trucks convert to S scale nicely too.  Of course
the freight trucks are a little pricey, but they are reeeeeellly nice.
 You can add about 0.050" shim to each end of the bolster to
accomodate NWSL S scale wheels.
