Howdy Friends

It is a sad task to tell you all that our dear friend, Bill Bateman,
died last Thursday of pneumonia. He was at home and passed quietly
during the night. Diane and I got the call from the police department
that morning and have been working since then with the local police,
coroner, and his attorney to handle his funeral.

Many of you know Bill from seeing him at the NMRA National Train Shows
or at TrainFest working the Wm K Walthers booth - he had worked for
Walthers for over 10 years. In addition, he helped us at B.T.S. by
attending Fall S Fests and waving the B.T.S. flag, and showing up at
some of the NASG meets to stand behind our tables. Bill's love of
trains was large enough to include all scales, but looking around his
house today, lots of S stuff was there.

The grave-side funeral will be tomorrow, Wed March 22, 2PM at the
Forest Home Cemetery, 2405 W Forest Home Ave, Milwaukee, WI. In lieu
of flowers, please send contributions in Bill's name to the EAA
(Experimental Aircraft Association) P O Box 3086, Oshkosh, WI 54903.

Take care
Bill Wade
B.T.S.
