Hi All,
        An alternative method of producing "rubber rocks" is a product from 
Crayola called Model Magic.  It is an air hardening substance that 
works like clay and dries after several hours.  I pressed some into 
Woodland Scenics rock molds and was impressed with the results.  The 
worst problem I had was reproducing fingerprints in the rocks.  The 
stuff is a bit on the expensive side, but it is very light.  If I were 
building a portable scene that had a lot of rocks, this is the stuff 
I'd use.  I never did anything further with my rocks.  They're still in 
a bag in the basement.  I always meant to color them, and see if "The 
Dispatch" was interested in an article about them, but I never painted 
them.  I would guess they would bend to fit like the rubber rocks.  
They still retain some flexibility to this day several years after my 
experiment.  The stuff is now available in colors, but better result 
might be obtained by painting rather than mixing the colors available.
