Dear Darrell,
    I was told that the famed rail historian and PRR employee E.P. 
Alexander designed the famous A.F. General train set in honor of the 
50th anniversary of the American Flyer line in 1959.  It is actually an 
"O" scale model of a narrow gauge train.
