You can bet real money that the ATSF flats were "mineral brown" or "freight
car
red" with white lettering.  The exception would be flats in MW or wreck train
service painted silver with black lettering.

Jerry [?] in Flagstaff can probably confirm this.  I was only there for 4 1/2
years.
